Steve discusses green wood bowl
turning at The Woodworking Shows
I'd like to compliment you and Marjorie on the professional presentation of your CD and DVD's (Super Deluxe Combo). They are far superior to some of the material purchased at this year's show - Thanks. I was inspired by your demonstrations. Despite having seen your demonstrations twice, I was very pleased that the CD and DVD's provide additional tips.
The ebooks are also extremely informative. From what I have read so far, the ebook articles will be very helpful in my endeavors. For example, I have been considering a chainsaw, but did not really know where to start - thanks for the tips. I look forward to seeing you at next year's show. I'm sure I'll have more questions by then.
I watched your bowl turning (demonstration) from the point of view of someone who has never turned anything and did not own a lathe. I thought your presentation was great and you are a great instructor. The CD is great, and the DVD. I hope you plan on more DVDs and other projects. You inspired me enough that I now have a Jet 14" lathe in my shop and I look forward to turning lots of pieces. Thank you and I look forward to seeing more CDs and DVDs.
I was able to attend three of your classes and they were the most informative classes that I have ever attended. I have watched the pen turning DVD and it has renewed my interest in doing more pens. I have just spent a lot of time looking at your CD books (Super Combo) and you have put a world of information in them that will definitely help my turning.
May of the DVDs that I have purchased the instructors either rush through the project or they assume that the student knows everything. In you DVDs and CDs you cover every detail. Even though I have turned (numerous items), I still have learned many little things I didn't know. Thank you.
I have read all of your articles on oils and waxes. My high compliments to the caliber of your articles. They are the best I have ever seen. Your testing appears to be very thorough. I will be trying some of your highly rated products. Once again, thanks again for the fine articles. I will be buying your video and ebooks soon.
I talked to you at the Columbus, Ohio, wood show and I really enjoyed you demonstration. I talked to you and asked you about stabilizing wood and you told me to email you and you would send me the process. I greatly appreciate that. Once again, thank you very much. You are an inspiration to me.
I just wanted to drop you a note to say that we all enjoyed your presentations in Columbus, Ohio. I have not been woodworking long, but found your demonstrations to be both entertaining and informative. I have considered buying a lathe, for the purpose of learning to turn bowls. Therefore, it was a great pleasure for me to witness your seminar on Sunday concerning the steps in bowl turning, not to mention the pen turning we observed on Saturday. Thank you again for an informative series of seminars.
I have enjoyed your presentation at the Seattle/Tacoma Woodworking Shows the past several years and purchased your first ebook, "Woodturning with Steven D. Russell". I am a new turner and just getting started. Thanks for the information.
Great talking with you the other day when I ordered you Volume II woodworking CD and DVD combo. Received it in the mail today. As always, plenty of information and great tips. Thanks much.
As a result of attending your most informative workshop at the Pomona Woodworking Show, I enrolled in a basic woodturning class. I was most impressed when you carved out that bowl and the chips went flying. Thank you very much.
I enjoyed your seminar at the last Pomona Woodworking Show and also all the articles on your disc. Inspiring and very informative. Information like that helps us all not to have to reinvent the wheel or wind up with dozens of finishes languishing on the shelves. Thanks for your time.
I sat through 3 of your seminars the last day of the Charlotte Woodworking Show and enjoyed each one. Thank you for the great presentations!
I met you at the Sacramento and Santa Clara shows last years and thoroughly enjoyed your presentations. I have purchased your videos which have been a great help to me as a beginner. Thank you.
I have been to three of your classes at the trade shows and finally bought your Video Library. I have learned so much over the past 6 months with your videos and ebooks. Thanks for taking the time to develop them.
I wanted to thank you once again for your help. My dad was pleased with the gift I came up with (Super Combo). Success! I just wanted to let you know that we appreciated the time you took to help us out. The world could use a lot more instructors and teachers like you.
Over the past week I have been watching what you have produced in the turning video (Volume III). While I am familiar with many of the things that you do, it has added another level to my knowledge and I greatly appreciate your efforts and method of explanation.
Safety Note: Always follow all manufacturers safety instructions before working with your lathe, or any of the tools or products you may use. If you are unsure about any operation, obtain competent professional instruction before proceeding. Use and wear all necessary safety devices during turning and observe safe woodturning practices to prevent accident or injury.
