Welcome! The Lone Star Woodturners Association, Inc. - LSWA, is a non-profit educational association of woodturners located in The Woodlands, Texas.
We are a member of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW), the largest organization in the world dedicated to the advancement of woodturning, with more than 13,000 members and hundreds of local chapters located throughout the world. The LSWA exists to educate our members and the public in the art and craft of woodturning.
Our members include woodturners of all skill levels from novice to skilled professional. We share a common bond through our interest in the woodturning arts and freely share our knowledge, ideas, techniques and information. We also promote woodturning in the community through educational demonstrations.
Our club meetings are held monthly, on the 4th Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in various locations in and around The Woodlands, Texas. Meeting schedules and locations are available through our website (www.lonestarwoodturners.com) and in our current newsletter. Visitors are always welcome to attend club meetings.
Membership in the LSWA is open to anyone with an interest in woodturning. Annual membership fees are $36.00. If you are thinking about giving woodturning a try, even if you don't own a lathe, you are encouraged to attend one of our meetings. Sharing ideas, techniques and knowledge is the lifeline for all woodturners. Join us in our creative exploration of the art and craft of woodturning!

Steven D. Russell is a professional studio woodturner, teacher and writer. He has written numerous articles for international woodturning magazines, which have been published in more than 78 countries around the world. Steve has demonstrated in numerous cities across the United States. His studio, Eurowood Werks, specializes in bowls, platters and hollow forms with unique visual and tactile treatments.
Steve is also the current and founding President of the Lone Star Woodturners Association, Inc., an AAW member chapter. The LSWA is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to teaching and demonstrating the art and craft of woodturning.
Steve is also a featured writer for the Guild of Master Craftsman's "Woodturning" magazine, published in London England. Woodturning magazine is the world's leading magazine for woodturners. Look for his articles covering technical topics, or project based articles in an upcoming issue.
