Woodturning Videos Plus June Update
Late Edition This Month: Lathe Talk was published lathe this month due to our vacation and numerous computer problems we have been working through since we returned. Please accept our apologies for the delay.
New Cartoon Feature Coming Soon: For some time now I have wanted to add a wee bit of humor to the pages of Lathe Talk. A few days ago my wife and I were in the Delta Sky Room at the Salt Lake City Airport on a layover, waiting to fly to Maui for our vacation. With more than two hours of "dead" time to fill, I quickly ran out of all available reading material.
I started thinking about my future plans for Lathe Talk and how I might share some of the humorous things that woodturners experience in the wonderful world of woodturning. Ka Ching! Why not add a monthly cartoon? I have always loved drawing and I did quite a bit of it as a student in various art classes during school, but it had been years since I've ever tried to really draw something… Humm… Why not!
So with pen in hand and a big grin on my face, I'm proud to announce that Lathe Talk will soon feature an original monthly cartoon feature. Look for my new woodturning cartoon feature in the very near future. It will highlight some of the trials and tribulations that woodturners experience, as well as some of the really funny things that happen from time to time in this utterly addictive quest we call woodturning. It should be a stack of fun!
Back From Hawaii: My wife and I returned a few days ago from our vacation on the island paradise of Maui, Hawaii. This was our fifth trip to Hawaii in as many years. We have a splendid time as usual, enjoying the sights and sounds of one of our favorite Hawaiian islands. We visited with many of the local artists on Maui, including artists in wood, textile, glass, oil painters, potters, jewelers and more. It was great to visit with some of our old friends and make a few new ones as well. We're already planning our next trip!
