This is the twenty-ninth edition of Lathe Talk, a free monthly newsletter (e-zine) for subscribers of Steve Russell’s "Woodturning Videos Plus" woodturning website. This newsletter will be delivered on or about the fifteenth of each month to the email address you indicated on your sign-up form. All back issues of this newsletter are available to subscribers here.
Lathe Talk will offer tips and tricks to make your woodturning easier and more productive. I’ll also show you ways to save money in your studio, so you can stretch your hard earned money. In addition, we will periodically offer subscribers only specials on our videos and e-books. If you like this e-zine, please do a friend and me a favor by forwarding it to them. Woodturning Videos Plus April Update
Late Edition This Month: Lathe Talk was published late this month due to an extremely heavy workload in the studio, coupled with a significant amount of time lost due to a recent series of heavy storms that blew down part on my fencing and caused some roofing damage. In the last 30 days, we have received over 11.0" of rain at our home, with most of that coming in the last two weeks.
This month's edition is also a shortened version (no Hot Tip of the Month) due to the delays in publication. We will return to a regular full size edition and mid-month publication in May. Thanks for your understanding!
Possible "Marketing Tip of the Month" Feature: Would you be interested in seeing an occasional article on selling/marketing your woodturnings in Lathe Talk? Lots of turners never sell their work, but lots do… If you would be interested in seeing an occasional "Marketing Tip of the Month" article on some aspect of selling your work, please let me know via email at email@example.com
This would take the place of either the Hot Tip of the Month, the Finishing Tip of the Month, or the Turning Tip of the Month when published, to keep the newsletter from getting too large. If there is sufficient interest, I would be happy to add this to the newsletter. If you do not feel this would add value to your subscription, please let me know this as well – your opinion is appreciated.
Lathe Talk Subscription Management: Links are provided at the bottom of this newsletter to help you manage your Lathe Talk subscription. You can easily change or update your email address by clicking on the appropriate link. As always, email addresses of subscribers are always kept confidential and are never shared with any other party, for any reason.
Volume #5 DVD Video in Pre-Production: We've started pre-production and storyboarding ideas for my Volume #5 DVD video. We hope to begin shooting early this summer. If you have any special requests for videos, please let me know. Look for details in future issues of Lathe Talk.
Link To Our Free Educational Libraries: If you belong to a woodturning club or association, please consider asking your Webmaster to add a link to our website's free educational libraries. There are currently 37 articles in the Main Library and 35 articles in the Tips Library and more than 650 terms in the Multimedia Glossary Library, covering beginner to advanced topics.
Please help us to share this valuable learning resource with other turners in your woodturning clubs, associations, or on your own woodturning website links page.
