We're pleased to report that my latest DVD video, "Turning Elegant Bottle Stoppers" is now available for purchase. Through the years, I have received a plethora of emails encouraging me to produce a video showing how I turn and inlay bottle stoppers. Of all of the small projects I turn, bottle stoppers are one of the most enjoyable. They make great gifts for family and friends and are a great way to spend a bit of time at the lathe.
Volume Four is a double disk (2-hours total length) DVD video set that demonstrates my favorite techniques for turning four elegant bottle stopper projects. Disk one demonstrates turning two projects: 1) A Cocobolo Rosewood wooden dowel bottle stopper paired with a traditional Flor cork; and 2) A Cocobolo Rosewood wooden dowel bottle stopper inlaid with a 25mm Crazy Lace Agate cabochon, paired with a traditional Flor cork.
Disk two covers two additional projects: 1) A blue swirl acrylic acetate bottle stopper finished to 12000-grit Micro-mesh, paired with a black titanium metal cone stopper; and 2) A blue swirl acrylic acetate bottle stopper finished to 12000-grit Micro-mesh and inlaid with (24) 2.5mm Cubic Zirconia (CZ) presets, set in solid 18kt white gold, paired with a low profile stainless steel bottle cone. Part two includes detailed information on drilling and mounting procedures for installing the CZ presets. Bottle stopper tips and techniques are included on both videos.
If you want to take your bottle stoppers to the next level, or if you're just getting started, this step-by-step video will show you how easy it is to turn traditional elegant designs, or stoppers inlaid with stone cabochons and Cubic Zirconia inlays. Additional information on the chapters and topics covered in each video, as well as a short video preview of each video is available here.
Lathe Talk subscribers receive a special discount on any Volume 4 video purchased from now until the end of February. Check out this month’s subscriber special below.
