Woodturning Videos Plus September Update
This Month's Lathe Talk Canceled Due to Hurricane Ike: Thanks to all our subscribers for your emails and prayers during Hurricane Ike. We were very fortunate during the hurricane to suffer no major damage to our home - only a small section of fence was blown down and no trees were lost. Several of our neighbors were not so lucky.
Within sight of my home, four houses had trees blown over into the house or garage. We had almost 14 continuous hours of wind and rain. Rainfall totals were in excess of 18 inches in a 36 hour period. Electricity and phone service, including cell service, were out for four days.
We had our power restored a few days ago and we are slowly getting back to normal. It was a very difficult four days, but many others in the hurricane hit areas are still suffering, so please keep them in your prayers. Our Internet and phone service was recently restored, and food and fuel supplies are slowly getting back to normal.
Due to Hurricane Ike and the clean-up efforts afterward, we have decided to cancel this month's issue of Lathe Talk. Lathe Talk will return in October with a full issue. Thanks again for the many emails we received and take care until next month.
